My Peaceful Escape to Enjo Nature Farm
If you’re searching for a peaceful, quiet weekend getaway not too far from Cape Town, let me tell you about one of my absolute favorite places—Enjo Nature Farm. This self-catering gem, tucked away near Clanwilliam, offers the perfect escape from the buzz of city life. It’s become such a memorable spot for me that I’ve lost count of how many times I’ve returned. Once you visit, it’s the kind of place that stays with you forever.
Lazy Leopard Cottage
Whenever I stay at Enjo, I always book the Lazy Leopard Cottage. There’s just something magical about it. Picture this: an outdoor bath under the open sky, where you can soak and stargaze at the same time. Whether it’s during the heat of summer or the cool winter nights, that outside bath is always the highlight of my trip.
A Must-Visit During Flower Season
If you love nature, the Flower Season at Enjo is something you don’t want to miss. It usually happens around August, transforming the area into a breathtaking tapestry of colors. Imagine fields bursting with wildflowers, with every step surrounded by the sweet fragrance of blooming nature.
Getting There
Enjo is truly off the beaten track, and getting there feels like part of the adventure. If you’re planning a trip, make sure your car is in good shape. A 4x4 with high-profile tires would be the ideal choice, but a sedan can also do the job—just make sure to check the oil and tire conditions, including the spare.
Here’s an important heads-up: there’s no cellphone reception in the area. So if anything goes wrong with your car, getting help could be tricky. This just adds to the farm’s rustic charm, but it’s something to keep in mind while preparing for your trip. And if you run into tire issues along the way, check out Tyremart in Clanwilliam.
Book Early
With Enjo’s growing popularity, bookings fill up fast. In fact, you’ll want to plan your weekend escape at least six months in advance to secure a spot, especially in the busy flower season. That might sound like a long wait but it’s worth every moment of anticipation.
If you’re longing for a break from the noise of daily life, I can’t recommend Enjo Nature Farm enough. Just pack your bags, check your car, and head out on an adventure you won’t forget.
Don’t Miss the Best Pit Stop on the N7
If you’re driving to Enjo Nature Farm, make sure to take a break at De Kleine Schur—the best pit stop along the N7. It’s the perfect spot to stretch your legs, grab a coffee, and stock up on snacks before continuing your journey. A little break here makes the drive even more enjoyable 🙂.
